Our client approached us to rethink the rear of their Sandstone semi detached house in Rutherglen.
The existing kitchen area was confined to a very small room with a poorly lit dining room sitting behind. The rear rooms had poor access and limited views of the garden.
Our solution was to enlarge the kitchen by relocating it back into the former dining room. A small rear extension combined with the former kitchen has created new dining and seating areas. New glass doors and a large window open up the new spaces to the garden. Large roof lights and a triangular clerestory flood the new spaces with natural light.
With relatively small changes made to the house, several positive changes have been achieved to how our client uses the rear part of their house and garden.
